As a teenager, I have a lot of self-esteem issues that stem around my weight. I just really want to lose the weight and get toned, but I don't know where to start. Also, being the thickest out of all my friends (meaning that they all have fast metabolisms) I always eat what they eat. I wouldn't know how to start a clean diet. Any advice? by phaaaaan

I can definitely relate to you! And I think one of the biggest reasons people find it difficult to lose weight is because they do EAT OUT often. Even what we think we “healthy alternatives” at restaurants most of the time aren’t because of the way the foods are cooked. Realize that you can’t just “eat what they eat.” Honestly, I learned that some people have it good, while others have to work harder. Unfortunately, I had to work harder. I did sacrifice a lot of my social life in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As a teenager, I know that would be very difficult for you, so what I would suggest is eating as healthy as possible when you are home, and trying your hardest to stick to healthy alternatives when you eat out. Don’t just eat what they eat. When at home, discard all the junk food and candies. Not having temptation will make things a lot easier. Also, stick to REAL foods such as chicken/turkey (not breaded or already processed) and fish/shrimp, and vegetables and fruit - foods that you ALREADY know are healthy. Use cooking sprays and olive oil to cook your foods. When grocery shopping, try to stick to the outside aisles (meat and produce) instead of the middle aisles. In order to eat clean, you MUST cook. Also, DO exercise. If you want to speed up your metabolism, this is very important. No excuses.
